Description
The Holy Apostle contains the full text of the Book of Acts and the New Testament Epistles, marked according to liturgical use in the Orthodox Church. It is an excellent companion to The Holy Gospel.
Designed for both private reading and liturgical use, The Holy Apostle contains an extensive, Pan-Orthodox calendar of liturgical readings; the complete complement of Prokeimenon and Alleluia verses; detailed instructions for use; a complete table of moveable dates through the year 2100; translation notes and footnotes; and more. The Book of Revelation, which is not read liturgically in the Eastern tradition, is also included in the Appendix for personal reading. Four ribbon bookmarks makes use easy.
As with The Holy Gospel, attention to design was important to this project. The Holy Apostle features beautiful black-and-red printing and gorgeous full-page iconography and ornamentation. Complete with a handsome foil-stamped, cloth-bound hardcover, it is a dignified and holy book worthy of the sacred teachings of the Apostles contained within.
The Holy Apostle was made possible through the generous contributions of over 30 individuals who share our vision. Thank you.

I'm a great fan of the St. Ignatius publications.
However, as one accustomed to Greek Apostle and Gospel publications,
I was gravely disappointed by the difficulty in actual liturgical usage of this book.
It's a great translation and a great publication in general, and suitable for home use. Not so however for liturgical use, where lighting is dim etc.
Having to add words at the beginning of a reading from the footnotes, and having to make jumps yourself, in composite readings, is a tedious task, especially for occasions where you didn't have the book at home to prepare those readings.
The Greek format has a straight-forward approach, preparing word for word that which the Reader is expected to recite at every instance.
Would most definitely recommend the publisher to investigate this route.
Thankful in Christ, fr. A.
Very good quality print and make of the book, EOB translation along with the detailed liturgical guides might make the Holy Apostle and Gospel the best liturgical New Testament set in English.
Arrived ahead of schedule and so beautiful I almost don’t want to use it. It inspires me to live a liturgical life.
I have purchased many books from St Ignatius Orthodox Press. I have gave away their books and then bought them again and again. The quality, translations, and available titles just make them a top tier choice for scripture and prayer.
A very clear, consistent and easily understood translation of the Patriarchal Text of 1904, in a beautifully printed and bound volume. Thank you!
