The Holy Gospel book contains the full text of the four Gospels, marked according to liturgical use in the Orthodox Church. It uses the Eastern/Greek Orthodox Bible (EOB), a formal Modern English translation from the Patriarchal Text, the official Greek New Testament of the Orthodox Church. Designed for both private reading and liturgical use, The Holy Gospel contains an extensive, Pan-Orthodox calendar of liturgical readings; detailed instructions for use; a complete table of moveable dates through the year 2100; translation notes and footnotes; and more. Four ribbon bookmarks make use easy.
Attention to design was very important to this project. The Gospel Book features beautiful black-and-red printing and gorgeous full-page iconography and ornamentation. Complete with a handsome foil-stamped, cloth-bound hardcover, it is a dignified and holy book worthy of the words of Christ contained within.

It's a beautiful and simple Gospel book. Thank God it is full text (Slavic style) which allows full use of the text beyond the pericopes. Thank you!
A great help to my soul.
The icon in the cover of the book is very nicely made, very traditional yet easy to read translation, if you are reading a page to someone else or saying it during a service look at the footnotes before because sometimes it gives the more accurate or clear word/ing. Overall just a very quality book to have and would recommend even if you are a laymen that want a good printing of the Gospels.
The quality of the Gospel is amazing! The quality is way above the cost! Worth every penny and then some!
I purchased The Holy Gospel and The Holy Apostle together. I was hesitant to purchase all four books in this series without first experiencing the first two books. A test drive if you will. It is with great joy, and with no hesitancy, that I highly recommend not only The Holy Gospel but The Holy Apostle, The Prophetologian, and The Holy Psalter, as I have now purchased all four. Why? One word: Excellence! Excellence in every detail. Excellence in the timeless art and craft of true book publishing, where a book is seen as an absolute work of art, a medium with the innate power to stimulate the mind, soul, heart and all of the senses. There are so many things about these books that I can recommend, in fact, too many to number in this short review. But if you are looking for Sacred texts and faithful, books that are crafted, and designed to be beautiful works that give Glory to God, and if you are interested in having these Sacred Texts available for you to read in a format and translation this is both accurate, regal, royal and yet very accessible... then you will not be disappointed in investing in these great books. I use the word Investing for truly that is what you will be doing, because these sacred texts not only will journey with you in this lifetime, but your children's children, will be the inheritors and benefactors of these sacred texts long after you repose. These books from St. Ignatius are heirlooms, they are the Royal Road, the Divine Ladder of Ascent that will help every Christian ascend, and to pray the Holy Scriptures, and then live what those Scriptures teach. I cannot recommend these books enough, and as a man who professionally spent 15 years in Christian publishing, I can in all honesty say that I have not seen such fine books as these from St. Ignatius among the many hundreds that I had the privilege of working on.
